Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match

WWE Money in the Bank 2014 predictions

WWE Hall of Famer @HowardFinkelI submit my prediction based on the uncertainty of Bad News Barrett’s injury status at press time. This might be considered as an upset pick, but I’m selecting Kofi Kingston to walk out with the contract Sunday. I’m basing this on stamina, agility and endurance — three of Kofi’s greatest traits that, to me, will have him shock the WWE Universe. WINNER: Kofi Kingston

@JoeyStylesSeth Rollins asked Triple H to allow Ambrose into the match so he could face Dean Ambrose head-on, but I don't buy The Authority's charade. Ladder Matches have no disqualifications, so there is nothing stopping Triple H from sending Ambrose crashing and burning, while Rollins claims the golden ticket that is the Money in the Bank Contract. Rollins has WWE management behind him, and that can be the difference between being WWE World Heavyweight Champion and being just another name in the “WWE Encyclopedia.” WINNER: Seth Rollins

Jake Grate: With all due respect to the competitors in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match, I am looking even more forward to this Contract Ladder Match, which boasts a bevy of WWE’s top high-flyers. Although all eyes will be on the captivating Rollins, his former Shield “brother,” Ambrose, will be the one to claim the priceless World Title opportunity. WINNER: Dean Ambrose

Bobby Melok: This Ladder Match features a group of Superstars willing to risk anything to have a guaranteed title opportunity, but Dolph Ziggler stands out from the pack as the one that most needs a big win. The Showoff hasn’t been the same since losing the World Heavyweight Title (at last year’s Money in the Bank event, ironically). That, and his willingness to risk it all, makes Ziggler the man to watch Sunday night. WINNER: Dolph Ziggler

John Clapp: Hubris might have gotten the best of Seth Rollins. The Architect might insist he needs Ambrose to be in his sightlines Sunday, but his demand for The Lunatic Fringe to be added to the match will be his undoing. Ambrose is a vindictive wild card who cares little about his own body. I’m not convinced he cares about the opportunity that comes with winning the contract, either, but I’m positive he'll stop at nothing to deprive Rollins of said opportunity. WINNER: Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose: 2, Kofi Kingston: 1, Seth Rollins: 1, Dolph Ziggler: 1

Divas Champion Paige vs. Naomi

WWE Money in the Bank 2014 predictions

@HowardFinkel: I envision this match to be a real tooth-and-nail affair. Naomi, I believe, is the most athletically gifted Diva on the WWE roster today, while Paige has looked very sharp as Divas Champion. But I also wonder what kind of an influence Cameron will have (if any) on the match. Nonetheless, Naomi ends Paige’s reign, and becomes the new Divas Champion. WINNER: Naomi

@JoeyStylesNaomi’s time to wear the butterfly-emblazoned title is long overdue, and I truly think she can beat Paige. However, Naomi’s funky “Total Divas” tag team partner, Cameron, has seemed unsettlingly unstable in recent weeks. I can see Cameron being unable to resist the temptation to take another swing at Paige and costing Naomi the match by disqualification. WINNER: Paige

Match preview |  Hear Cameron's fiery comments

Jake Grate: In a clash of two competitors most fans have declared cornerstones of the future of the Divas division, Paige puts her title on the line against Naomi. The British beauty has appeared all but unbeatable since she debuted the day after WrestleMania, but it seems like things are just coming together for the ultra-talented “Total Divas” star. Methinks we’ll have a new Divas Champion. WINNER: Naomi

Bobby Melok: Though Divas Champion Paige and Naomi seem perfectly happy to let their friendly rivalry play out in the squared circle, Naomi’s partner Cameron insists on making sure the spotlight is on her, whether she’s involved in the match or not. I think Naomi will walk out of Boston with the title Sunday with a little help from her friend, whether she likes it or not. WINNER: Naomi

John Clapp:  I’ve found the recent displays of good sportsmanship between champion and challenger heartening, but I’m nervous Cameron’s self-centered ways will distract from a cleanly fought battle. Either way, the bout will be competitive, and though I doubt she’ll be able to lock in the PTO, I bet Paige surprises the superbly talented Naomi with the blink-and-you-missed-it Paige Turner. WINNER: Paige

Naomi: 3, Paige: 2

WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family

@HowardFinkelHarper & Rowan impress me immensely, as do The Usos. But Jimmy & Jey do way too much aerial movement for my liking. I feel that the Wyatt Family members will find a way to ground The Usos, and in the process become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. WINNERS: Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

@JoeyStylesAs much as I love The Usos both professionally and personally, and predicted long before they won the tandem titles that they would, I think their lifelong dream is going to end on Sunday. Harper & Rowan are big, strong and more malicious than any other Superstars in WWE. I think The Usos will go on to be multiple time WWE Tag Team Champions, but their first reign will come to an ugly end at the massive hands of Bray Wyatt’s monsters. WINNERS: Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

Jake Grate: When I say, “Us!” you say, “Oh no, it’s Luke Harper & Erick Rowan!” The terrifying followers of Bray Wyatt are ready to strike out on their own and Jimmy & Jey Uso’s WWE Tag Team Titles are firmly in their crosshairs. I’m a huge fan of the high-flying Samoan Superstars, but it’s hard to imagine the massive Harper & Rowan will be denied. WINNERS: Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

Bobby Melok: Even though Luke Harper & Erick Rowan have seemingly had The Usos’ numbers over the past few weeks, look for Jimmy & Jey to rebound. The WWE Tag Team Champions are at their best when their backs are against the wall. The Usos will withstand the bulldozing offense of Bray Wyatt’s charges and retain the championship. WINNERS: The Usos

John Clapp: I’ve no doubt Harper & Rowan have the brawn to dismantle The Usos, but at this stage, they don’t have the finely tuned teamwork, which is an element that must not be forgotten in a WWE Tag Team Title duel. Jimmy & Jey will take their licks Sunday, but their unreal ability to read one another will save the day and allow their reign to continue. WINNERS: The Usos

Luke Harper & Erick Rowan: 3, The Usos: 2

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match

@HowardFinkelI love the mix of Superstars involved in this contest. From established veterans to relative newcomers to this type of event, all will be vying for the richest prize in our industry. This is a real tough call to make, but I am going with Bray Wyatt. A very deceiving and agile competitor, Wyatt will parlay those attributes into winning his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Once victorious, he’ll truly have the whole world in his hands. WINNER: Bray Wyatt

@JoeyStylesRegardless of what anyone says, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is not the face of WWE. For nine years, that has been John Cena, and the merchandise sales, WWE.com traffic and pay-per-view buys support that statement. Though many members of the WWE Universe would love to see a first-time champion like Roman Reigns, Cesaro or Bray Wyatt, there are at least as many who want to see Cena as champion again. The members of the Cenation will be thrilled to see their neon-clad leader add gold to his brightly colored attire. WINNER: John Cena

Jake Grate: What makes this high-stakes battle so fascinating is that any of these eight Superstars are more than capable of emerging from Boston’s TD Garden with the most illustrious title in WWE. Yes, many fans are (rightfully) focusing on rapidly ascending talents like Reigns or Wyatt, but I think a cagey, veteran, opportunistic Superstar slips under the radar and finds a way to win when it counts. WINNER: Alberto Del Rio

Bobby Melok: A little momentum is all a Superstar needs to skyrocket to the top. Roman Reigns has more than a little momentum behind him after winning the Battle Royal to earn a spot in the Ladder Match and stopping Kane dead in his tracks with a Spear on Raw Monday night. There won’t be anyone who can stop the juggernaut this Sunday. WINNER: Roman Reigns

John Clapp: The Viper has a sizable insurance policy in the form of The Devil’s Favorite Demon, Kane. In a match where it’s typically every Superstar for himself, having another competitor looking out for you is invaluable, and thanks to The Authority, that’s what Randy Orton can expect. Cesaro will shine, Sheamus will brutalize and Reigns will come a hair’s length away from claiming glory, but in the end it will be Orton’s win. WINNER: Randy Orton

Bray Wyatt: 1, John Cena: 1, Alberto Del Rio: 1, Roman Reigns: 1 Randy Orton: 1
