Hello, my students. It is I, Matt Striker, and I am here with a brand new edition of your favorite class, the Word of the Week.

I bring you this week’s word with a reminder that the holidays have arrived. Many of you, my students, will be given a break from school to observe Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and of course the new year. I encourage all of you to keep abreast with your studies during this time. By doing so, you will kick off 2007 as the smartest student in your class. What better holiday reward could you ask for? The word of this week is:

Gonads (go-nads)

1. An organ in animals that produces gametes, especially a testis or ovary

Gonads is essentially another way of saying a sexual organ found in the scrotal sack of a male. Some people like to call them testicles, nuts, cajones, family jewels, yam bags, things of this nature. Obviously I’m talking about testicles. Not Test. Testicles.

This holiday season, I encourage my students to get in touch with their gonads. If you truly want to be in the giving spirit, get in touch with your friends’, family’s, and loved ones’ gonads, as well. That is your biology lesson and your word of the week from me, Matt Striker, your teacher.
