Sci Fi signs ECW through 2008

Sci Fi Channel and WWE today announced that the hit program, ECW, will continue on the network through 2008.

The Miz might have his sights set on ECW gold, but his golden Diva, Kelly Kelly, clearly has her sights (and heart) set on another man: Balls Mahoney. Though many in the Land of the Extreme might be happy to see this classic incidence of “Beauty and the Balls” realized, it’s possible that Kelly’s heartfelt decision may have cost the Diva her career.
Punk pumped for venture

The ECW Champion has established himself as the Straightedge Superstar whose only addiction is competition. But, following the new venture that will allow SmackDown and ECW Superstars to compete on both shows, never has CM Punk had an opportunity to have his obsession so satisfied.

All hell broke loose under the Union Jack this week, as the triad of ECW Champion CM Punk’s potential Cyber Sunday challengers came to extreme blows on ECW on Sci Fi. In the end it was Big Daddy V who heavily punctuated a very emphatic statement by compressing both The Miz and John Morrison and standing above their near-broken bodies.

An unfamiliar bluegrass melody of “Biscuits and Gravy” echoed in the Land of the Extreme Tuesday night, signaling the arrival of SmackDown’s benevolent banjo-strummers, Jesse & Festus. Led to ECW by Acting SmackDown GM Vickie Guerrero, Jesse & Festus brought their unique abilities to the ring against Elijah Burke and Nunzio. And, as repulsed as many ECW Superstars were by the country boys, Jesse & Festus were awestruck at the many distinctive sights of the Land of the Extreme.

WWE.com has learned that several meetings have taken place between Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and ECW General Manager Armando Estrada that, if ratified, would allow SmackDown and ECW Superstars to compete on Tuesday and Friday nights.
