WWE Champion Triple H stood confident Monday night after leaving Randy Orton laid out less than a week before their Steel Cage Match at Judgment Day. This came shortly after Special Guest Referee JBL assisted the Legend Killer in a win over a returning John Cena, leading the Chain Gang Soldier to give chase to the Self-Made Millionaire. Also, Shawn Michaels gained a distinct psychological advantage over Chris Jericho in their Judgment Day match, after admitting his knee injury was a lie and laying out the Y2J with Sweet Chin Music.

Friday Night SmackDown

A series of Championship Chase matches culminated in an Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge with late entrant, Edge, emerging as the winner. The Ultimate Opportunist now faces Undertaker at Judgment Day for the World Heavyweight Championship. Also on SmackDown, Vladimir Kozlov and Natayla kept their undefeated streaks alive.

ECW on Sci Fi

WWE Tag Team Champion John Morrison defeated ECW Champion Kane. Then, all hell broke loose when The Miz and CM Punk got involved. Kane got the worst of it, as the Tag Team Champions delivered a beating to The Big Red Machine. The four will do battle again for the Tag Team title at Judgment Day. Also, in his Superstar debut, Colin Delaney was defeated by Mike Knox, then GM Armando Estrada added himself to the roster to give Delaney his second loss of the night.

Backlash

12-time World Champion Triple H has once again proven himself as The King of Kings when he reclaimed his throne at the top of sports-entertainment by winning the Fatal Four Way Elimination Match at Backlash to become the new WWE Champion. Also, Matt Hardy finally gained the advantage in his rivalry with MVP when he proved himself to be better than the Ballin’ Superstar and won the U.S. Championship.

WrestleMania XXIV

The thrilling battle of The Biggest vs. The Best between Big Show and Floyd "Money" Mayweather came down to the boxing champion's use of a steel chair and brass knuckles to knock down, then knock out The Largest Athlete in the World. Also, two new champions were crowned at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., as Undertaker defeated Edge to stay undefeated at WrestleMania and win the World Heavyweight Title, while his brother Kane won the ECW Title.
