WWE 2K17 roster expands with first Suplex City Census update

2K’s selection of Brock Lesnar as WWE 2K17’s cover Superstar ensures WWE gamers will eventually find themselves competing in a virtual Suplex City. Now, it’s time to see which other Superstars will be available as playable characters on The Beast Incarnate’s turf.

This week, 2K announced the first batch of Superstars joining the WWE 2K17 roster. The announcement adds 19 new names to the game’s extensive ranks of playable characters, including three WWE Hall of Famers.

The Superstars joining the WWE 2K17 roster include:

  • Aiden English
  • Booker T
  • Brian Pillman
  • Brie Bella
  • Chris Jericho
  • Diego
  • Erick Rowan
  • Fernando
  • Heath Slater
  • Jey Uso
  • Jim Neidhart
  • Jimmy Uso
  • Konnor
  • Larry Zbyszko
  • Nikki Bella
  • R-Truth
  • Simon Gotch
  • Ultimate Warrior
  • Viktor

These 19 new playable characters join the ever-growing WWE 2K17 roster, which will also include NXT competitors as well as Goldberg as a pre-order bonus character.

The new roster additions came to light following 2K’s unveiling of the Suplex City Census, an innovative weekly recap of the Superstars joining Lesnar’s favorite virtual locale. The 19 new playable characters were represented in an online homage to a dystopian amusement park in Suplex City, with each Superstar getting his or her own symbol scattered somewhere within the image.

WWE 2K17 is not yet rated by the ESRB, and is currently scheduled for worldwide release on Oct. 11, 2016, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
