A champion and a king collide

For popular SmackDown Superstar Lashley, the last two weeks have been nothing short of a roller coaster. At Judgment Day, Lashley lost the King of the Ring tournament finals to Booker T in controversial fashion when Finlay got involved. Then, the following week on SmackDown, things took a dramatic turn in the opposite direction when Lashley captured the United States Championship by defeating the now departed JBL.

WWE makes its long awaited return to the Rose Garden tonight for an action packed episode of SmackDown. Also making a long awaited return to the City of Roses is Portland's own Rowdy Roddy Piper. On his first SmackDown since being coronated as the King, Booker T and his associates brutally attacked the United States Champion Lashley, and made him bow to the feet of the new king. Lashley seeks revenge

Last week on SmackDown, Lashley was successful in his first ever Championship opportunity when he defeated JBL for the United States Championship. But Lashley isn't simply satisfied with being the new champ. This week, Lashley will be out for revenge when he takes on new King of the Ring, King Booker. Booker T defeated Lashley at Judgment Day in the King of the Ring finals to become King Booker, but it wasn't without controversy.

Angle hopes to go out with a bang

The entire world of sports-entertainment was shaken up in a huge way Monday night when it was revealed that Kurt Angle would be leaving SmackDown to go to the new ECW. Paul Heyman used his one and only SmackDown draft pick on the Wrestling Machine because he said Angle embodies the new vision of ECW. While that may be the case, over the years, Angle has certainly been one of the most influential Superstars in SmackDown history.
