WWE.com, in conjunction with The Academy of Wrestling Arts & Sciences, ranks the Top 25 Superstars in wrestling each week with POWER 25. The rankings are based on victories, quality of opponents, momentum and overall in-ring dominance, as well as intangibles. Be sure to check back every Saturday for the latest POWER 25. Here are the rankings for December 23:
| This Week | Movement | Superstar | Last Week |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Cena has been unstoppable since regaining the WWE Championship, but can he stop the Samoan Bulldozer? |
1 | |
| 2 |
After a dominating performance in Armageddon’s main event, the Animal moves up to No. 2. The World Heavyweight Champion proved he could even reign in the North Pole on SmackDown. |
3 | |
| 3 |
Lashley feels what it’s like to be a victim of circumstance this week, but he has a chance at getting back into the top two when he puts his title on the line against RVD on Jan. 2. |
2 | |
| 4 | 4 | ||
| 5 |
Umaga is bringing an undefeated record into New Year’s Revolution, but the Bulldozer faces his biggest roadblock yet: the WWE Champion. |
5 | |
| 6 | 7 | ||
| 7 |
After retaining the United States Championship twice, Benoitshoots up to No. 7. He made Chavo sorry for ever messing with the Rabid Wolverine. |
10 | |
| 8 |
Jeff and his brother had a rough week with two losses. Will Hardy rebound or will he fall on the P25 as quickly as he soared up? |
6 | |
| 9 |
Three minutes wasn't enough for Punk to make Hardcore Holly tap out, and it also wasn't enough to keep him from falling on the P25. |
8 | |
| 10 |
King Booker looks more like a peasant these days. Will he return to royal form soon or is the King’s reign over? |
9 | |
| 11 |
Carlito got roughed up on Raw, but the cool Superstar has looked hot ever since Masters locked his love interest. |
11 | |
| 12 |
He didn’t have the success Test did in ECW on Sci Fi’s main event, but RVD did win the vote of the ECW fans and will have another title opportunity. Will he follow through this time? |
12 | |
| 13 |
He may not have won that incredible Ladder Match at Armageddon, but he’s shown up everywhere since and his anger at what happened to Mercury could propel him up the P25. |
14 | |
| 14 |
Technically Mr. Kennedy lost at Armageddon, but if there is such a thing as a moral victory, that was it. Who else could have hung in that long with Undertaker? |
15 | |
| 15 |
Kenny Dykstra may have the “Nature Boy’s” number. If he does, Flair can forget about having one next to his name on this list. |
13 | |
| 16 |
The ECW fans don’t think he’s deserving of a championship match against Lashley, but he did everything in his power to prove himself on ECW on Sci Fi. |
17 | |
| 17 |
After the way they retained their titles, London & Kendrick have to be the last Superstars anybody on the SmackDown roster wants to get involved with. |
20 | |
| 18 |
Matt and Jeff had their hands full last week. Angering Nitro with the Mercury ladder incident can’t make them feel any better, either. |
16 | |
| 19 | 18 | ||

MVP was burned by Kane at Armageddon. Still, you’ve got to hand it to the guy. How many Superstars are willing to go into a match knowing they could go up in flames? |
19 | |
| 21 |
Kane leaps back onto the P25 after manhandling MVP in the Inferno Match. MVP still has the edge in the win-loss record, though. |
NR | |
| 22 |
Undertaker proved he is still the man to beat on SmackDown. There seems to be no way to stop what’s already dead. |
NR | |
| 23 |
Another win against the Women’s Champion. Is it just a matter of weeks now until Victoria is the one wearing gold? |
23 | |
| 24 |
Gregory Helms sure looked like the Cruiserweight Champion at Armageddon, but he looks more like a worm to The Boogeyman. |

"Why didn’t Victoria move up at all? She beat the Women’s Champion!" - Katey
The Academy replies: There were just too many big wins around her this week. Victoria will have a chance of moving way up the P25 at New Year’s Revolution.
"Why isn’t Joey Mercury on the P25? He showed he’s just about the toughest Superstar out there at Armageddon." - Jesse
The Academy replies: He definitely proved he was tough, but Mercury still hasn’t compiled the wins he needs to appear on the P25.
"Why is Mr. Kennedy moving up for a loss?" - Dave
The Academy replies: Kennedy’s effort was strong enough to beat any other WWE Superstar.
The following Superstar(s) failed to maintain their spot on the POWER 25 this week:
Chavo Guerrero - Two losses in one week doesn’t help Chavo make his case that Guerreros are the best fighters.
Cryme Tyme - Not even JTG & Shad could smooth their way into remaining on the P25 after so many weeks without a match.
Jimmy Wang Yang - Maybe Yang will have more success writing a country song about how he lost his place on the P25.
Keep an eye on the following Superstars during the upcoming week:
The Boogeyman – After having his way with the Cruiserweight Champion, Boogeyman seems to be coming to get the P25.
The Great Khali – Khali dominated not one, but two Extremists in his ECW debut. If he keeps up that pace, he’ll make a giant push for the P25.
Kenny Dykstra – Kenny has proven he can hold his own. Can he remain consistent?
