WWE.com, in conjunction with The Academy of Wrestling Arts & Sciences, ranks the Top 25 Superstars in wrestling each week with POWER 25. The rankings are based on victories, quality of opponents, momentum and overall in-ring dominance, as well as intangibles. Be sure to check back every Saturday for the latest POWER 25. Here are the rankings for December 9:

This Week Movement Superstar Last Week
1

JOHN CENA

The WWE Champion beat "The Masterpiece" at his own game. Cena has been in a league of his own.

1
2

LASHLEY

ECW’s hottest Extremist not only outlasted five opponents in the Extreme Elimination Chamber to become ECW World Champion, he also pinned Big Show to retain the gold.

5
3

BATISTA

Sorry Batista, but you’re a victim of circumstance. The Academy had to make room for Lashley.

2
4

JEFF HARDY

The best of both worlds has been dominant in the tag team division since rejoining Matt.

6
5

DX (HBK & THE GAME)

They’re trading matches with Rated-RKO. Will they be able to take control consistently over the World Tag Team Champions?

4
6

UMAGA

The Samoan Bulldozer looked dominant once again when he manhandled the WWE Champion.

8
7

RATED-RKO (EDGEORTON)

Edge and Orton took the upper hand in the seesaw battle with DX. No matter how you look at it, they're still World Tag Team Champions.

9
8

KING BOOKER

King Booker’s kingdom was quiet this week as its bitter ruler took out his aggression on the Animal. Alas, the King still remains with a bare waist.

7
9

BIG SHOW

The Extreme Giant’s long reign in ECW has finally come to an end, and with the announcement that he will be leaving the ring, this is his swan song on the P25.

3
10

CM PUNK

Punk was put in his place at December to Dismember, but he rebounded on ECW on Sci Fi. Using his loss as motivation has the straight-edge Extremist moving in the right direction.

10
11

CHRIS BENOIT

The Rabid Wolverine made easy work of Sylvan, but the Academy is waiting for a bigger challenge before he enters the top 10.

11
12

ROB VAN DAM

He may not have reached his goal at December to Dismember, but RVD looked good and got right back on track at ECW on Sci Fi. Is he still a threat to the ECW World Champion?

13
13

CARLITO

Carlito had a big win on Raw… literally.

14
14

JOHNNY NITRO

Though things didn’t go MNM’s way on Sunday, Nitro and Mercury are in good form and have shown that the match could have just as easily gone another way.

15
15

RIC FLAIR

WWE fans may have heard their last “Wooo!” for a while as the “Nature Boy” recovers from his spirited beating.

12
16

MR. KENNEDY

SmackDown’s loudest mouth is able to hold his own in the ring, but he’s also the brand’s most paranoid Superstar.

16
17

WILLIAM REGAL

Having Dave Taylor by his side has forced the SmackDown roster to take Regal seriously. Can they make a WWE Tag Team Championship push?

21
18

MATT HARDY

Hardy is soaring up the P25 with his tag team success. How far will the reunited Hardys take him?

20
19

TEST

Test didn’t win anything for himself at December to Dismember and he wasn’t even successful in helping Big Show. He didn’t look too hot on ECW on Sci Fi either.

18
20

SABU

Sunday was not a good night for the ECW Original. Have his days of challenging for the ECW World Title come to an end?

17
21

CRYME TYME (JTG & SHAD)

How many acts of cryme does it take before Cryme Tyme can participate in a match? At this rate, the world may never know.

19
22

MONTEL VONTAVIOUS PORTER

So far, it seems like MVP has gotten the better end of the contract. Will he be ready for Armageddon? He’s not used to be in matches.

22
23

THE HIGHLANDERS (RORY & ROBBIE)

This one is for you, Roddy.

NR
24

VICTORIA

Her win against Maria has Raw fans wondering what Victoria looks like in gold. Could there be another new Women’s Champion soon?

NR
25

PAUL LONDON & BRIAN KENDRICK

They’re the WWE Tag Team Champions, but they haven’t had an impressive win-loss record lately. Will they step it up when it counts or is SmackDown nearing the end of another championship reign?

WHAT YOU'RE SAYING

"Jeff Hardy at No. 4? How did that happen?" - Lenny
The Academy replies: The fall of another champion shook things up this week, but there is no arguing the success Jeff's been having with and without his brother.

"Why didn't Punk move at all? He had a solid win on ECW on Sci Fi!" - Louis
The Academy replies: Punk is still in great shape at this point of his career, but remember he was the first one out in the Extreme Elimination Chamber.

"Where is Joey Mercury? He should be right there with Nitro." - Amy
The Academy replies: Johnny Nitro had a bit of a head start. If it was the P26, Mercury could be on the list, but he and Nitro need to get a bit more consistent right now.

FAREWELL...

The following Superstar(s) failed to maintain their spot on the POWER 25 this week:

Chavo Guerrero - There have just been too many nights off for the so-called fighting Guerrero. He can come back to the P25 when he gets back in the ring.

Kane - Kane has had his hands full with MVP and Mr. Kennedy. Will he be able to regain his monster form soon?

KEEP AN EYE ON...

Keep an eye on the following Superstars during the upcoming week:

Jimmy Wang Yang – Now that he is No. 1 Contender, Yang is one step from making P25 his kin.

Elijah Burke & Sylvester Terkay – The thunder and lightning duo has been relentless since debuting in ECW.
