"The Marine 2": More on production and filming

Paradise is exactly what the filmmakers found when they decided to shoot The Marine 2 in Thailand, and specifically on the southern island of Phuket, often called the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea,” for its pristine white beaches and warm azure waters. The biggest challenge for filmmakers was finding a resort that would allow filmmakers to take it over and in effect, destroy it, during the busy tourist season.

For the title role in The Marine 2, filmmakers turned to WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase, a two-time World Tag Team Champion with partner, Cody Rhodes, and part of the WWE’s The Legacy, a trio of multi-generational Superstars which includes Rhodes and Randy Orton. DiBiase, the son of the legendary WWE star, the “Million Dollar Man,” Ted DiBiase Sr., says the opportunity to perform in the film was beyond his wildest dreams.

The film stars World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar Ted DiBiase, Temuera Morrison (Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones), Lara Cox (All Saints), Robert Coleby (Monarch Cove) and Michael Rooker (The Bone Collector).

While on temporary leave, Marine recon sniper Joe Linwood (Raw Superstar Ted DiBiase), joins his wife Robin (Lara Cox), a public relations executive, at the grand opening of a luxurious five-star resort in the Philippines. Unfortunately, their relaxing holiday soon comes to an end when a group of local rebels seize control of the property and take the billionaire owner (Robert Coleby), a group of guests and Robin hostage.
