Hacksaw named hometown hall of famer
Hacksaw Jim Duggan is "Hooooing" his way into the Glens Falls, N.Y., hall of fame.
The upstate New York native is being honored at the city's 100th year celebration, and he couldn't be happier. Glens Falls looked back at his storied high school career, where he had collected 10 varsity letters spanning four sports: track and field, basketball, wrestling and football.
"My shot put record still stands from 1973," Duggan proudly said. "I was also the first person from Glens Falls to win a state wrestling championship. Football was my main sport, and I was able to go to Southern Methodist University on scholarship for it."
No matter all the high school and college accolades, Hacksaw says it's always good to be honored.
"My old high school principal alerted me to it. It was really nice. They even mentioned my dad, who was the police chief there for years," Hacksaw told WWE.com "I might get a cup of coffee out of it, but it's nice to be remembered. Glens Falls will always be home."
