O-Town: Host with the most
Witnessing the most gripping spectacle in all of sports-entertainment should be enough to satisfy the hunger of any thrill junkie. But for those traveling to WrestleMania XXIV on March 30, 2008 and craving even more excitement, fear not: Orlando boasts a buffet of adventure worth filling up on.
"We want WWE fans to take advantage of all that Central Florida has to offer," explained Brent Nelson, Vice President of the Central Florida Sports Commission. "From our great weather to our affordable accommodations and numerous entertainment attractions, we've got something for every WWE fan heading to our community."
While Disney World remains the big cheese of Orlando destinations, nearby Universal Studios theme park is giving Mickey Mouse a run for his money. Universal features entertainment for a wide range of ages, including rides such as Revenge of the Mummy and Jaws and a nightclub-filled area chock full of dining and dancing known as City Walk.
Feel like cooling off after watching the hottest show in sports-entertainment? Throw on your swimsuit, slather on some sun block and hurry on over to one of Orlando's massive outdoor water parks, Wet ‘n' Wild or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, to tackle a corkscrew slide or just chill poolside. Then again, you can always hit the world's largest water park, the Atlantic Ocean, which is just a 45-minute drive east.
If you can't make it to the shore, let Sea World bring the shore to you. Dive right in with the aquatic theme park's host of undersea wonders, including stingrays, dolphins, sharks and, of course, the world famous Shamu.
More adventurous animal lovers may want to wander (carefully) around Gatorland, the 110-acre theme park and nature conservatory, home to hundreds of the prehistoric predators and various other creepy crawlers.
Just remember, if you haven't yet scored your tickets for WrestleMania XXIV, it's still not too late. But if you have acquired your coveted ducat, not only will you be joining tens of thousands of pumped up fans at The Florida Citrus Bowl, you'll also have the opportunity to feast on the many other offerings of O-Town.
