As Ric Flair continues to fight for his career, there can be no argument among our fans that the 16-time World Champion has made his mark in sports-entertainment. With his undeniable charisma, lavish outfits and outlandish antics, Flair is one of many Superstars who have delighted us in the ring, and blinded us on their way to doing so. Witness and vote on WWE's finest fashion plates – and fashion disasters.
Ric Flair
The “Nature Boy” is the cream of the crop when it comes to his in-ring prowess and flamboyance. The flashy robes, combined with his legendary charisma, have made Flair’s glamour shine bright for almost 35 years in sports-entertainment – and the 16-time World Champion doesn’t plan on giving it up anytime soon.
The Godfather
When he first arrived in WWE, the Godfather had the mink coats, the gold jewelry and his cane, emphasized only by his neon bright attire underneath. Most importantly, though, he had the Ho-Train. With his (pimp) hand strong and his flashy style in the ring, Godfather captured the Intercontinental Championship on one occasion, and from time-to-time, he still reminds our fans that “pimpin’ ain’t easy.”
"Adorable" Adrian Adonis
In the 1980s, no one was as over-the-top as "Adorable" Adrian Adonis, who willingly donned pink tights, leg warmers, dresses and makeup. Furthering his flamboyance was "Adonis’ Flower Shop," his anti-"Piper’s Pit." WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Adonis would do battle at WrestleMania III, with Adonis losing his trademark bleach-blond locks, the key to his pompous persona, in a Hair vs. Hair Match.
"Superstar" Billy Graham
With his tie-dyed attire, signature shades, boas and 22-inch “pythons,” "Superstar" Billy Graham was one of the first to see his in-ring persona become larger than life. Believing that he was a level above all those he faced and with rule-breaking part of his arsenal, few could have predicted the popularity and success of Graham – a 2004 WWE Hall of Fame inductee.
Jesse "The Body" Ventura
Our fans may remember WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura as the loud-mouthed color commentator alongside Gorilla Monsoon or as the former Governor of Minnesota. But “The Body” was at his loudest as a WWE Superstar. With his chiseled physique and elaborate attire, the only thing more flamboyant than Ventura’s appearance was his tacky credo: “Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat."
Goldust
Controversial, erotic, weird, suggestive, comedic. However you describe Goldust, one fact remains – this gold-covered Superstar was as flamboyant as he was dangerous in a WWE ring. His gestures and presence were the weapons he used to taunt opponents, along with his uneasy physical approach. The mind games led to championship gold, unforgettable moments – and plenty of Shattered Dreams.
The Ultimate Warrior
Outside the squared circle, the Warrior’s interviews created some of the most colorful moments in WWE history. The neon fringe on his arms and the elaborate face paint only added to his persona, and his energetic approach in the ring was second only to his power. The former WWE Champion may have self-destructed, but the spaceships that beamed him … never mind.
"Sensational" Sherri
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Sherri is the lone woman on the list. Whether she was “Sensational,” “Queen” or even “Scary,” this WWE Hall of Famer was a mixture of brains, beauty and unnerving sequins. With a persona as bright as her outfits, Sherri redefined what it was to be a true Diva – in a way none of us will ever forget.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage
“Macho Man’s” flamboyance wasn’t limited to his in-ring antics or interviews, nor was it restricted to his color-coordinated robes, sunglasses or bandana. As soon as the sounds of "Pomp and Circumstance" filled an arena and the lovely Miss Elizabeth accompanied him from the locker room, the splendor of Randy Savage began. The result? Fashioning two WWE Title reigns, and a place in WWE history.
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
Brutus Beefcake made his presence known when he trimmed Adrian Adonis’ hair at WrestleMania III, “cuttin' ‘n’ struttin'” his way into our fans hearts. With his trademark shears and gaudy ring garb, "The Barber" was a fixture in WWE; up until he cut his losses and left for WCW and a hair-raising stint – without the clippers – as the Booty Man.
Rick "The Model" Martel
Martel went from the fan favorite Strike Force member to the greatly-despised "The Model." With Arrogance both in his hands and in his personality, plus neon-pink tights only a model could dare to wear, Martel had memorable rivalries with Jake Roberts, Tito Santana and Shawn Michaels. And if there's any question as to just how flamboyant Martel was, look no further than his “Yes, I am a model” button.
