Raw gets funky

WWE fans witnessed history on Monday night when the American Dream Dusty Rhodes successfully competed in his first ever Raw match. Just days before Sunday's Survivor Series, the sports-entertainment legend reached into his bottomless bag of tricks to defeat Nicky of the Spirit Squad. After the contest, Rhodes chatted with WWE.com about his return to the ring.

"It was absolutely electric out there," said the fired-up legend in regards to the fans at the Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena. "Tonight, I was the better man. I strutted my stuff. I was cooking and smoking out there. The fans gave me a great ovation and it had me ready to go. We were getting funky like a monkey."

On Sunday night, Rhodes will again compete as part of the Legends team, competing against former Tag Team Champions the Spirit Squad. The former World Champion is excited to be teaming with Legends captain Ric Flair, and at the opportunity to lay another beating on the Squad.

"I'm definitely looking forward to Survivor Series," said the former World Champion. "At this point in my career, being able to team up with Flair is a great thrill. I'm going to soak the bionic elbow, and get it good and ready because at Survivor Series, the Spirit Squad is going to be in for an ass-kicking."

Joining Rhodes and Flair on the Legends team will be fellow former World Champions Sgt. Slaughter and Ron Simmons, with veteran enforcer Arn Anderson watching from their corner. To witness the legends in action, order Survivor Series this Sunday, live at 8/7 CT and only on pay-per-view.
