World Wrestling Entertainment and USA Network today announced a four-year renewal agreement that will keep ratings juggernaut WWE Monday Night Raw on the network through the fall of 2014. Raw, a cable mainstay for more than 16 years, continues to be one of the most watched regularly scheduled programs on ad-supported cable television, contributing to USA’s status as the number one cable network.

Kyle Busch drove the Z-Line Designs/WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to Victory Lane Saturday, winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series O'Reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. It was Busch's fourth straight Nationwide win, which he celebrated in Victory Lane by holding up a replica WWE Championship. The recent Raw guest host also won his fifth consecutive Camping World Truck Series race Friday night in Texas.

Since October 2nd, a string of natural disasters has devastated several countries across the Asia Pacific. Catastrophic earthquakes, tsunamis and typhoons have left many people homeless and without food or medical supplies. The death toll has reached nearly 2,000 across the region.

World Wrestling Entertainment was saddened to learn of the passing of one of the company’s most popular and charismatic legends, “Captain Lou Albano.” WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Albano family.
“Captain Lou” was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. He performed for the WWE from 1983 to 1996. Albano began his storied career with Vincent J. McMahon in the 1960’s as one half of “The Sicilians” tag team with his partner Tony Altimore. He will be greatly missed by the WWE and his fans.”

Rell, was approved by the Senate in a 34-1 vote and yesterday was finally voted in by the Connecticut House of Representatives in a 96-45 decision. The CEO will finish the term of Alice Carolan on the 11-member board.

WWE is saddened to learn of the death of one of its former announcers, Jack Reynolds. Reynolds passed away on Oct. 16.
Reynolds joined WWE’s broadcast team in the early 1980s, and assumed the role of play-by-play announcer for the then-All-Star Wrestling telecasts, teaming up with Canadian football legend-turned-wrestler Angelo “King Kong” Mosca, and later Jesse “The Body” Ventura. And it was Reynolds and Ventura who became the original hosts of Prime Time Wrestling when it debuted in 1985 on USA Network.

Forty-eight hours after his accident, Randy Orton is feeling considerably better. The former WWE Champion re-fractured his collar bone, but luckily he does not have a broken scapula, as originally feared. A follow up examination confirmed that Orton will be unable to compete for an additional three months.

Mr. Kennedy has been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder, but will not be undergoing immediate surgery. Instead, Kennedy will undergo two weeks of physical therapy to determine whether the surgery will be necessary.

WWE has announced the expansion of its Board of Directors to 10 today with the addition of the WWE’s Executive Vice President of Television Production,Kevin Dunn, Frank A. Riddick, III and Jeffrey R. Speed. As part of previously announced plans, Robert Bowman has resigned from the Board.
The Company’s Audit Committee will now be chaired by Riddick, with Speed and current Board members David Kenin and Michael Soloman all serving on the committee as well.

During WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio’s media tour of China, a magnitude 7.9 earthquake devastated the nation’s southwestern Sichuan province Monday afternoon, accumulating a death toll of more than 8,500.
Mysterio will be continuing on his media tour. He and his wife will be flying to Shenzhen, China, Tuesday, for a press conference and media event. Following those appearances, the two will travel to Guangzhou, China, Thursday and Friday, where he will visit a rehabilitation center for disabled children.

Helms to undergo neck surgery

After an exam with world-renowned Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, it was determined that Gregory Helms will need surgery to repair two broken vertebrae in his neck. The surgery, which will be performed by Dr. Youngblood in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, will be similar to that undergone by such Superstars as Edge and Chris Benoit, and recovery time will be at least one year before Helms can return to the ring.

For three straight weeks on Raw, the 7-foot tall Mastodon demonstrated the brute force he possesses by leaving Cena unable to stand, let alone defend himself. In a message specifically targeted at The Champ, Khali also decimated Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton and Edge before boldly doing what no Superstar has ever done – steal Cena’s title. The display of utter disrespect shocked the WWE Champion and left him to wonder about a strategy that could possibly work to cut the mammoth Superstar down.
