WWE sees rapid growth among female viewers
As reported in the New York Post Aug. 20, WWE has always been a hit with the young, male demographic, but the squared circle is not just a boys club. The wrestling juggernaut has seen record increases in viewership among women.
The Nielsen ratings show that in the second quarter, viewership among females 25-34 is up 13.7 percent from the previous year, while the number of women more than 50 years old has seen a 23 percent increase. And, in dorm rooms across the country, the viewership among females in the college age-range has skyrocketed 34 percent.
