After the controversy of Sting's victory at Starrcade 1997, the title was vacated and a rematch between Hogan and Sting was ordered. In the highly anticipated rematch, Sting defeated Hulk Hogan to become the undisputed WCW Heavyweight Champion, fighting off not only Hogan, but the entire nWo. After Sting defeated Hogan, he spray-painted WCW across the chest of the leader of the New World Order.<?xml:namespace prefix = o /?>
